This series of work was painted on the beach at Praia Barranco, Vila do Bispo, in the Algarve in 2011. For months I would spend the days painting, sketching, walking and swimming, slowly I became deeply engaged in the contrast of beauty and chaos this beach offered. Easy access to the beach at this time brought a myriad of colourful camper vans and travelers with their naked bodies, dancing, and music creating a constant drama to the oceans timeless tranquility and beauty. The subject for me was the see only, the nature, without the chaos of human intervention.
